Local guides

At Southern Drawl Outfitters, we’re proud to connect our customers with some of the best local fishing guides in the Lowcountry. Please note, however, that all charters are operated independently by local guides, and Southern Drawl Outfitters does not manage or oversee any aspect of the charter process.

All bookings, payments, cancellations, and rescheduling are handled directly between you and the guide. Southern Drawl Outfitters acts solely as a point of reference for connecting customers with experienced captains, and we are not responsible for any part of the charter experience.

If you’re interested in booking a fishing charter, we’re happy to recommend a trusted local guide and provide their contact information. From there, you can communicate directly with the guide to plan your Lowcountry fishing adventure.

Capt. Donovan

Inshore/Nearshore

Captain Donovan will explore the local inshore estuaries fishing for redfish, trout, and flounder, as well as more seasonal species such as sharks, tarpon, and jack crevalle. We will be fishing with bait or artificial lures based on what has been productive and your skill set. You might also have the chance to encounter our local wildlife including dolphins, bald eagles, alligators and more!

Capt. wesley

Fly Fishing/Lite Tackle

Capt. Wesley offers inshore fly/light tackle charters out of a Beavertail Mosquito. Capacity of two anglers, offering trips from 4-6 hours.

Sight fishing redfish on fly and light tackle is a common objective of Marsh Rat Guide Service, but that's not the only fun to be had in our beautiful fishery. Trout and Flounder are another staple of our area that do not typically offer the same visual experience as the redfish, but provide a fun light tackle experience that most any angler will enjoy.

Capt. Graham

Fly Fishing/Lite Tackle

Graham Cotter has been an adventure guide in one way, shape, or form for over 20 years. While he grew up visiting his father in Hilton Head Island he spent the majority of his career in the Florida Keys, South Florida, and the Bahamas. Graham managed private sport fishing operations which required him to learn new fisheries as he travelled to various remote locations.

After evacuating the Florida Keys for Hurricane Irma in 2017 he ended up on Hilton Head Island. Graham had found the Backcountry waters he had always been searching for. The endless variety of salt marsh creeks and flats in the Lowcountry are overwhelming and ever changing with the tide and could never be fully explored.

Capt. Austin

Inshore/Nearshore

Captain Austin has been providing guests with a great time on the water in the Bluffton/ Hilton Head area for over a decade. As a local captain who was born and raised on these waters, he is able to use his passion and years of knowledge to provide you with a fun-filled day!

Captain Austin will pick you up at the start of your trip in his 24 ft Bulls Bay center console that is perfect for fishing way up in the creeks but also has the capability to push further out! The waters of Bluffton are full of lots of life and action. We catch a variety of different species including Red Fish, Speckled Sea Trout, Flounder, Tarpon, Black Drum, Sheepshead, Jack Crevalle, Cobia, Spanish Mackeral, Black Sea Bass, and Shark.

Capt. Jack

Inshore/Nearshore

Capt. Jack focuses on exploring the creeks and sounds of the low country. Hilton Head has a lot to offer. Red fish, trout, flounder, black drum, and shark! We also have a variety of seasonal fish like tarpon, big crevalle jacks, and cobia. We use both light and heavy tackle depending on the target species. All anglers welcome from beginners to experts.

I'll do my best to make sure you have a fun day full of fishing. I specialize in bottom fishing, popping, and spinning, all to get you on that bite. This involves 4 to 7-hour trips, mainly fishing for Black Drum, Flounder, Redfish, Shark, and Speckled Trout, depending on the season and conditions on the day.
